    Chinese spindles

    Hi.

Do You know the constructional difference between Chinese spindle “for wood” like this one 2.2KW CNC router Water cool spindle motor | eBay and “for metal” like this one 2.2KW CNC router metal work Water cooling spindle motor | eBay ?

The spindle “for metal” is more than twice as expensive as “for wood” and both of spindles are 2.2 kW. You can also buy the 0.8 kW spindle “for metal” – I don’t understand it.

Is the metal working spindle worth to buy in that quite high price? I don’t believe that twice expensive Chinese spindle is twice better.

The "for metal" spindle has 4 bearings vs. 3 bearings for the "for wood" spindle. The "for metal" spindle is probably designed more for torque than speed. Opposite for the other spindle.

You must consider how fast you need the spindle to be and how much torque is required for your process/product.
