    Question Charge pump help

I finally got my router up and running. Everything is working and I have run a few toolpaths to test it out. My question is about the charge pump. I'm using a Gecko 540 controller. As long as I leave the charge pump off everything works fine. When I try to turn on the charge pump I can't get the e-stop to clear from Mach 3. I have the charge pump setup on pin 16 in the mach 3 software. My understaing is that as long as you power up your PC before you put power to the machine the charge pump is not needed. Is that correct?

    Thanks,
    Brad

I don't think it was originally intended that way, but IMO it is wise to put the charge pump in the E-Stop string, this way anything at all happens to the PC stops the machine.
This is the way it is done in commercial machines.

How would I go about doing that? Any idea why I can't get the e-stop to clear with the charge pump on?

Not too sure I understand your problem. FWIW, this thread may help.
