    Hi Woffler

the circuit is using half of the 6 inverters in the 7406

    John

PS they are open collector outputs , in some circuits you need a pull up resistor

from the +5v supply to the output

connect the +5V supply to pin 14
and 0V (gnd) to pin 7

connect the 3 inputs to +5v ,via one of the three 2200 ohm resistors
    ( input 1 = pin 1 , input 2 = pin 3 , input 3 = pin 5 )

connect the probe to pin 1 (the first input)

link pin 2 to pin 3 and link pin 4 and pin5

connect the touch plate inputs and the B.O.B input to pins 2 and 3

the LED and 560 ohm resistor from +5v to pin6 (output 3)

the unused inputs (pins 13,11,9) can be left not connected
or connected to one of the supply pins (7 or 14)

    see the diagram

    John

PS with the 7406 open collector outputs it is safe for the touch plates
to short circuit pin 2 to the 0V (gnd / pin 7 )
