I've been working on making these things(MAKE | Laser-Cut Polygonal Sculptures), using acrylic from a local supplier.
I'd like to make a few more, with the aim of producing wearable pieces instead of heavy stationary pieces.
To that end I've been thinking about using cardboard or thick card stock for the large panels. It would be cheaper, lighter, and most importantly, would not shatter if dropped. My problem now is that I don't know where to find sheets of card stock in large sizes (~17x23 in)
If there is a plastic that can be laser cut that is also slightly flexible and light that would be even better. This isn't very precise, but the semi-rigid, slightly transparent plastic used to cover binders would be perfect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
