    Upgrade er11 to quickchange?

I have a syl x5 speedmaster, it comes with er11 collets. It would be nice if I could use bits a little larger than 7mm shaft, but more than that I would sure like to be able to change my bits much faster. It can take several minutes to change a bit, trying to balance 2 wrenches at a time and hold a bit from falling out, drives me crazy. Then to change a collet, you have to take the nut off then find something to push the collet out of the nut. It's a reliable system, but not friendly.

Thanks. That looks really interesting. I have no idea how to call international, I don't know if my cell phone lets me do that, but I emailed them.

Those parts look good, even though the website is one of the more painful ones i've seen, but I can't seem to find any ER11 quickchange ones there?

ER16 seems to be the smallest, what ER11's are you using?

    Cheers,

The website is not just painful, you email them and get no replies.

    Well at least they're consistent!

I don't get how comapanies this day think they can trade as though everything is a local niche product and there's no choice around, silly as a bit of info and some decent response makes all the difference.

I love the idea though, they would make life so much easier.

I purchased the easychange holder. It is really good. I found that the easiest thing to do is call them

The guys there are very good to work with. I ordered and had the holders the next day. It is an easychange holder

Hiya Jeff. ( Scrollmaster)have you actually seen one of these QC tool holders that will fit in your machine? Don't you need two reference numbers? Eg; R8 - ER11, MT3 - ER11 etc?

I couldn't find the ER11 tool holder on the Coventry site either.

If I understand correctly the PDF these toolholders are for R8, Morse or other arbors, the speedmaster uses a High Speed Spindle that have the ER-11 collet chuck in its axis, its not replaceable.

Its not posible to replace the Spindle with a larger collet one because these are bigger diameter and weight.
