My company is looking to purchase a new(er) CNC lathe.

We currently have 2 Mazak QT 25's in house. Does anyone have any input for a Hwacheon Hi-Tech 300 CNC Turning Center, and how it would compare to a Mazak Quick Turn 300?

Which one do you think would give me the best bang for the buck?

What are you cutting? The Hwacheon looks to be a close copy of the old SL300 Mori, box ways and all. Wouldn't surprise me, Mori did sell them the rights to make the manual lathe copy of the MS850/1050. Parts and service would be my main concern. Mazak service sucks here, but at least we can get parts easy and fast. I would try and find out what the part inventory is for the machine before I decided.

Actually we will be turning PFA plastic.

Get something with linear guides, like a Mazak then. Less or no waylube to deal with, faster positioning, you don't need the rigidity.
