Short version:
So I want to make these (pictured in cardboard below). It'll be my first project on my new Harbor Freight mini mill.
Not an ideal first project so I'm looking for advice.
Planning on using bar stock 3" x 1/2". I have a 4" rotary table that I bought which I am planning on using to turn the 11.44mm portions to fit into the hole. I was planning on extended them ~10mm below the hole and using a die to put a 10mm external thread. Then I'll secure underneath using a 10mm flange nut.
Advice? Need to get moving on this ASAP as I have other stuff to get done

Longer version:
I'm leaving on a 3 week motorcycle trip on August 10th and I want to make a GPS mount for my bike.
I bought a set of these which clamp to the bike handlebars:
They are good stuff. The GPS mounts to the 1/2" bar (I have this part sorted).
But I wasn't awake when I bought them as I have a different mount system on my bike and they clash with it:
So I figured I'd take advantage of the holes in my mounts and use them:
I'd like to use the largest holes but there isn't any underneath clearance:
So I'll be using the next set smaller holes which are:
