    Really trying to learn..

Ok so I have a student version of Mastercam 9 and I am trying to make some simple parts in my off hours at work. Basically i am trying to take aq part, measure it and machine it from scratch. I am having a hard time drawing it up and figuring things out.

Here is my little sketch of a part I am working on for my bike. I have some of the distances and radii's figured out, but some of the points I dont know how to measure them and input that into mastercam.

I can figure out the hole locations but, just figuring out how to input the point to point and how to accurately measure it gets me lost. Can anyone give me some tips? I am trying to learn this on my own and it is frustrating.

I FIND IT EASY TO DRAW A BOX AND DO THE ANGLES THEN TRIM THE LINES AND DO THE RADIUS LAST, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ASK ME, IM JUST GETTING THE HANG OF DRAWING
DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT DOING CANNED CYCLES ON THE LATHE VERSION?
I CAN DO A ROUGH AND FINISH A GROOVE THREAD FACE BUT WHEN I CHAIN THEM WHILE USING THE CANNED CYCLE IT ALARMS OUT
