I filled up my Prius today at Wally-World in Tulsa. $21 dollars worth for the last 443 miles. I think the price was around $2.39 a gallon.

Has your Prius been worth it ? any battery prooblems ? how long is your daily commute ?
how is the acceleration ? how long are the batteries expected to last ?

did you know u can hack into it and switch to all electric mode (but u must also add additional batteries) that can give u mpg's over 100 .. ( if u dont have too long of a commute at one time before recharge - and it is not too much highway speed)

Prius battery pack is like 800 lbs.....like it doesn't make any financial sense for what it costs versus the price of gasoline. Gas would have to be in the 10 to 15 dollar range for a Prius to make any sense.

Anyway...last time I filled up before Rita....it was $2.53 a gallon.....the Tx Gov has asked us to "act normally".....so next fillup isn't until this weekend!

Sorry for the reply delay. [U]This car is great.[U] It has tons of power and is quite roomy. I believe ViperTx is misinformed. I could care less was the batteries weigh as long as I continue to get MPG's in the 50's. After 37000 miles I have had 1 dashboard squeak fixed. The batteries have an 8 year warranty. Even if you had to replace them all after 8 years the current cost is around $1200 dollars I'm told. So at $2.65 per gallon the Prius would save you that amount in the first 12000 miles compared to a car getting 25 MPG. I paid $24850 for my car back in July of 2004. It has all the options. The same car then without GPS / Bluetooth/ Smart-entry would have been around $19000. With the $2000 tax credit that brings it to $17000. The only trick is to fine a dealer that is willing to sell is without a HUGE markup do to demand. Toyota's VP recently sent a letter to all dealers to try and get them to stop the price mark-ups. Price may be comming down shortly do to this. My daily commute is around 30 miles so I may have to look into the mod a little further. My mother is on her 2nd prius. She bought one when they first came out and won't go back to a conventional gas-pump loving car.

$4.05/gal. I was going to tell you to drive over the bridge, but $4.05 Can = ~3.40 US, so you're only saving 40¢ a gallon (50¢ can), and you have to pay the tolls, so not really worth it.

paid about 2.84 / gal of 87 octane at 7-11 ... saw 2.75 at Hess tonight ...

anyway, it's all abunch of crap.. did u guys listen to george nory .. he had a guest with website of prisonplanet.com .. they say there is more oil than we know what to do with .. all the oil is being capped off to increase petroleum company profits.. thats why every time there is a hurricane, exxon valdez spill, king Faud dies, war in iraq, any tiny piece of excuse in media they can come up with , u see the prices rocket !!! its all pure profit and its all pure bunk!!!

research it !!! There is supposedly 200 miles off of Louisiana oil well that rivals that of saudi arabia ....

there is no shortage, its a 'shortage' for exxon, mobil, etc gain from your pocketbook.

go visit coasttocoastam.com .. check the link on oil...
