Hi all I am looking at making another CNC this time a laser cutter/engraver.

I have all ready designed and built a 3 axis CNC made from aluminum etc and it works great.

I used round profile rails for that as it was taking higher loads and the cost of linear carriages was way to much.

I am looking at making my CNC laser cutter/engraver with a low cost linear system but I cant seem to find a decent one I like the looks of the V groove system and I am sure I spotted it CHEAP int the >UK< but cant see it now.

So as my next build is a laser the rails dont have to be big fat chunky rails etc any ideas and links would be great.

I posted some pics the other day of some custom V rails I'm making. Basically 1/4"x1/4" steel (I used stainless) glued into a wood rail.
It only costs about $5 for an 18" rail, but it requires rather precise machining, and some time. It seems like it's going to work great.
