cant cut with versalaser 25 watt vl200 samples?

    I can engrave using coreldrawx5.

However i tried drawing a box with a redline to cut through a .25" piece of wood. and all it did was engrave it very lightly.

My laser is used, I'm not sure if a lens is bad, or what my issue is.

To see if its operator error with corel draw I was wondering if someone could send me a sample file for VLS or coreldraw and a picture of how it turned out on your laser, just so i can see if the machine is working properly.

What is your red line thickness? Schould be hairline.
How it looks during cutting? Laser move according line drawing for cutting?
And what is your settings for engraving and cutting?

Is it going right to left over and over again drawing the box like an inkjet printer, or does the laser head move in a square motion then stop?

sorry for the lack of response one mirror had a crack in it. Replaced the the mirrors and now we are good to go.

It doesnt always cut all the way through but thats just going to take trial and error on different types and thicknesses. Thanks for the responses.

My red was also a wrong shade so i changed my color pallete.

As far as motion it moves left to right. I am confused though because sometimes it cuts out the shape then engraves inside it. other times it will engrave the inside part first then cut out around it. They were seperate projects so I don't know what I did differently.

Did your laser come with any other software to use besides Corel draw? What is happening is it's being sent to the laser and it's telling it what to do first, you can set the order of when it cuts and when it rasters separately, I don't know how to do this in Corel. Does it use another program like lasercut, or newlydraw?

Using object manager in Corel, you can specify the order by having the first item at the bottom of the list, and the last at the top.
