    Fanuc 6T decimal usage

    Does anyone know if there is a parameter on the 6 controller that I can force normal (to me) decimal usage. Right now it is set up to treat whole numbers in thousandths.

    For example:
    X10 would go to .010 on the x axis
    X10. would go to 10 on the x axis

    I guess it's handy for saving character space, but downright dangerous in my hands when I forget the damn decimal point.

    TIA

    I don not believe there is a parameter setting for this. It is a backwards compatible feature for the previous version of controls (2000, and 3000) series. They didn't have a decimal point at all, so all numbers had to be fixed format integers such as...

    12 = .0012

    15322 = 1.5322

    and so on.

    Be careful with this even on the most recent controls, the same rules still apply.
