I know that this question has been answered numerous times but I always find it a little bit cryptic and whilst I believe that I understand the theory behind it I'm wondering if someone can give me a fool proof way to wire up my shielding because I am getting a lot of noise
I have a G540 connected up as instructed to a 48V power supply Ports 10, 11 & 12. Nothing else just that.
My motors have a shielded cable running about 4 foot long and I have wired them as per Gecko's instructions
6-9 for the motors
1 & 5 with the resistance
2,3,4 I have welded the shielding to.
My motors are making a medium to high pitched buzz at idle and not amount of trimpot "tuning" makes it stop so I'm assuming it's noise.
What do I need to do?
Do I need to "earth" the shielding to the mains earth?
Do I need to "ground" the shielding to the negative side of the 48VDC
I have read and re-read through all the answers but can't seem to figure out what I need to do.
Thanks in advance for any assistance
Andrew
