    OKUMA LC20

    Hello,

We have an Okuma LC-20 that can not move past any spindle on command in any program. We believe it is because the spindle does not reach the set speed, usually reaches 80% and fluctuates from there. We have tried from 1 rpm to 1000, spindle override, G50.....we are out of ideas. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Also, dual turret with a C-axis, simulturn. We are able to jog the C-axis but can't activate the spindle. We get an error code when trying to turn on the spindle, I will look it up 3/3, our next class meeting.
Can you recommend any areas for maintenance, how to manual:cheers:, sites for parts purchasing. The machine hasn't been operated for 5 years.....warm up cycles/times? Example programs/parts?

    Thanks,
    Mike

You have a variety of problems.

The main one being inexperience with the machine and control
Many times, things will not do what is asked, because a condition has not been met

eg. the spindle may not run because it is still set to zero RPM, yes it will jog at a default RPM, but will not spin.

    Try a MDI --> G97 S100 M3 <write> cycle start
    and then see what happens.

We cannot see the machine and how you operate it.
you will have to say what you did, what the machine did/didn't do, the full alarm message - not just the number.

Also check the "Diagnosis" page for any additional messages, these can point you in the direction of any possible fault.

    start with the basics
do you have chuck clamp confrimation?
if yes then try this :

DATA INPUT (i believe its F1 on the OSP5000)
(without data input you will get an alarm)
    G97S500M3
    WRITE
    CYCLE START
