I need to know the best/most used stainless for Machining. the blueprints don't call for any specific grade/hardness so I am just looking for the most commonly used. Specifically need at a minimum 1.25"X6.00" flat stock.
Thanks for any help!

303 is commonly referred to as "easy to machine stainless"
Matt
Easiest stuff I ever cut was Carpenter Project 70 182-FM stainless. Easier than straight 303 by far.
i likey 303. luckily the prices are about the same as 304, so getting my bosses to purchase 303 hasn't been tough lately.
