    Red face G-Code help needed

    Ok i'm new to this & im havig problems with the size of some drawings i got.

    my table is 800mm (Y) x 1800mm (X)

    i've loaded some files in marc3 & they show in the Minus (-) and some 3-4 times my table size..

    other things are what are the G-Code letters stand for??

    x,y,z i know

    f = Feed rate ?
    L =
    M= (had m5 & m30)
    J =
    S =
    G1 =
    G3 =
    G53 =
    G80 =
    G49 =
    G90.1 =

    do i need these or can i edit the G-Code and remove them??

    also my machine moves 421.4 units/min

    but the files when it cuts runs at 1.49 units/min.

    any help welcome..

    thanks from NZ

    G90.1 =
    f=feed rate
    L = Number of repeats in peck drill cycle
    M= (had m5 & m30) M5=stop spindle M30 program end rewind M3 start spindle
    J = part of G3 arc move see I J
    S = spindle speed
    G1 = move at set feed rate G0= move at rapid feed rate
    G3 = Counter clockwise Arc move G2=clockwise
    G53 = Move in absolute machine coordinates
    G80 = Cancel canned cycle IE: peck drill
    G49 = Apply positive tool length offset
    G90.1 =Absolute mode G91.1=distance mode

    If you look on the Mach screen next to the reset you'll see buttons for G-code & M code they will tell what each code does.

    Also look at the manual for Mach3. I could not get a subroutine to work properly until I saw in the manual the the "Oxxxx" line can not have a number sequence on it. Took off the "Nxxxx" from the subroutine lines and all works well.

    Exclamation router burning wood

    ok i've found out what they mean :idea:

    now ive set the f=20 & its ok but the router seems to be burning the dust, i'm using 4.75mm & a 3mm 2 flute bit to cut out the bits..

    router is at max speed (28,000 rpm) it's a fuller (dermal type clone)

    any ideas? :stickpoke

    thanks for the help.

    You need to go much faster, more like F1000-F2000. Or lower the rpm.

    BTW, if you're looking for help learning g-code, the G-Wizard Editor has a "Hints" view that decodes it to English:

    Cool dxf files...

    ok got the new couplers & installed the one that broke...:argue:

    one question i have is with DXF files i load into Mach3 ?

    the dxf files i load seem to be in the minus of the Y like -59Y

    my table is from 0.0 x,y also the Y seems to be long like my X is Long & the x my Y is shorter..

    how can i move , re do the drawing to only goto 0,0 & not into the - minus

    thanks
