    Boxford 250 CNC lathe s/ware

    Hi all,

I have purchased a Boxford 250 CNC lathe but it is not complete and did not come with the PC or software. I have a suitable PC available but no software.

I would like advice from members on the best way to go. Get Boxford software (I do not know of a supplier) or use Mach3. If I were to use Mach3 I am not sure what interfacing issues I may meet.

The lathe has CNC controlled saddle and tool changer.

    Any ideas?

    cheers,
    tony

If you have a slightly older Boxford you can download older software at Boxfords website at: boxford.co.uk

If you have a newer CNC (about year 2000 and onwards) you will have to buy the Boxford v.10 software 495 GPB, which seems to be good software at a good price - but Boxford refuses to sell it to you unless you are a school... :tired:

    Cool Thanks

I hadn't contacted Boxford as I had heard that they will only supply schools. Thanks for your information.

I guess I will approach Boxford directly and if i get knocked back, I will look at Mach3.

If anyone sees this and can advise on a good CAD / CAM combination I would be very interested to hear from them.

    cheers,
    tony

You will not get any help if you contact them, just go to their website and under the "Download" section - choose "software updates" -> there you will find downloadable versions of older software.

    Best regards
