Problems in autocad 2000 with DXF

    Hi,

    I have Autocad 2000 also 14, Mach3cnc, Lazycam, and D2cn,

I have had this problem for ages now,

When I do a drawing and convert to DXF I do a pedit before loading into lazycam, I always seem to have grey broken lines all over the blue screen this happens a lot and is very time consuming, (annoying), I think its hidden dots or breaks,

My question is what can I do to remove these hidden things before loading up in lazycam?,, even when I clean and optimise in lazycam there are still a whole bunch of grey broken lines I have the same problem if I use D2cn,

I know the problem is me,

    Check and try

    Hi
I think you draw 3D model and this model is not clean. I mean you make many modification on this model and software confuse to convert. Not too much modify and try to draw only from parents-sketch. Check 2D sketch and use some command like (audit, overkill, purge).

You have a lot of extra lines under the outside border, and one extra arc under the inside border.

Also, you shouldn't need both the point in the center of the holes as well as the circles for the holes. One or the other should be all you need, depending on the CAM program you're using. Try this one.

    Ger21,

I have just tried that attachment in my D2cn program, I was able to run it in Mach3 ok, can you explain how you managed to eliminate all the problem lines?, I have always been plagued with them, I've had very few times when I have loaded a dxf into lazycam or D2cn and they have been ok first time, Is there another opp in autocad other than pedit where I can be sure that it will work first time?,

    Thank you for your help,........Edmund..........

    HAH THA

I did try a purge in the dxf, not sure if I did it right but nothing seemed to change, I will try the other two suggestions and see if that helps,

    Thanks for your interest......Edmund....

Once the outside is joined into a closed shape, drag a box over portions of it (from left to right) and the smaller segments should get selected, so you can delete them.

    ger21,

thank you, I have learnt something new today, didn't know about left to right, well I guess I new, but never used it, always did right to left, so thanks,
now perhaps my drawings will improve,

ger21, Ive always remembered I got the pedit from you many moons ago, thanks for that too,

Right to left selects whatever the box touches. Left to right selects only what's in the box.
