Hass and other make 4th axis

Just wondering if anyone know how to determine if a 4th axis from another manufacturer is compatible with a Hass mill that prewired for 4th axis.

That would be a question for your Haas distributor and/or your 4th axis manufacturer.
However, my best guess is your Haas will not digest a drive/motor combination from any other manufacturer.

SLD is correct, the Haas factory does not offer compatibility with any other manufacturer. There may be special circumstances that your local HFO can assist you with. Also, you can use a rotary control box from the manufacturer.

My underspending is that Haas uses Yaskawa drives and servo motors.
So your rotary table must have matching Yaskawa motor and you also need Yaskawa 4th axis amplifier. You also need to contact Haas to turn your 4th axis option on.

We have a Hardinge rotary on our VF2-ss. Hardinge made sure it would work.

I talked with Hardinge about a month ago when they had a good deal going on 4th axis stuff and they told me the same thing as extanker56 says. They said they have models that are specifically designed to work with the Haas as long as you already have the 4th axis option on the machine. I haven't purchased yet though so I guess I can't say for sure.
