    Cooley Rotary Engine

John F. Cooley from Massachusetts, was a pupil of Reuleaux and worked on rotary engines in Germany. He returned to the U.S.A. and invented His Cooley Rotary engine that was covered by patent number 748,348 Dated December 29, 1903.

The Cooley engine has a spur gear attached to the Wankel housing shaped rotary piston that engages with a larger interior gear at the center of the housing.

This engine has the same gear ratio as the Wankel Engine.

The rotary piston rotates 1.5 revolutions counter clockwise to every e-shaft.
    clockwise rotation.

With the Housing held stationary this engine could possibly be far superior to the Wankel engine.

I can provide the gear design and sketches for both the Wankel and the Cooley engines if you want.

From looking at a sketch of the Cooley engine it appears to have a built in cooling system built in as the combustion alternates to the opposite side of the Wankel Housing shaped rotary piston every e-shaft revolution.

    Take Care
