    G540 power light ?

I recently acquired a G540 for my desktop cnc gantry mill. It has the charge pump on/off slide switch, and the build code is H10.

Everything is working with emc2 controlling it, except for one minor issue.

The power light never comes on. I've checked the manual, G540-manual-v4.pdf, and it doesn't even mention it.

As for wiring, I have 24v power and the enable to ground. With or with out motors connected, I never see the power light lit up. Again, emc2 controls the motors perfectly. The fault light does light when appropriate.

When should I see the power light ? Is it power to the G540 or just meant to flash when power is going to the motors, like a hard disk activity light?

    TIA,
    Rick

    Rick,

The power light should be on when you are not in a FAULT state. If the power light is not coming on then there is most likely something wrong with the LED that was used; if you send it back here we will repair it and send it back to you free of charge. Here is a link to our return form:

Thanks, Marcus. I may hold off on sending it back.

If the light isn't red, then it must mean GO !!!
    TIA,
    Rick
