    Running 440V VFD with 380V

I have 380Volts Power Supply, My VFD is PUMA brand 2KW and have mentioned 440Volts input power.. Can i run this VFD with 380Volts input..

The Motor i want to run is 380Volt 3-phase 2.2HP...

As its chinese made so i can't get the support services.. I have the manual available..I need your suggestion in this regard..

I cannot see any problem, the 3 phase out should be compatible with your motor and any low level logic voltage for the control circuitry is usually dropped off the high voltage so I would not expect that to be affected.

Hi AL, thanks for the reply... So you mean that i can input 380V to VFD instead of its rated 440V.. As my motor is 380V so i think it will output 380Volts to me..

If you already have them you should not have any problem testing to make sure, I cannot see it being that critical.

Thanks Al, from last week i am studying the manual provided with the VFD.. . The VFD can be controlled with 380V...It has lot of setting parameters.. Should i have to do all the settings?..Or their are some specific parameters that i must set and leave the rest..

It has Vector sensorless control too.. Is it good to use this option.. VFD is able to get all the information from the connected motor...

You normally have to set the motor parameters, pole#, voltage etc, as a minimum, if it has auto tune then this would be done next to capture the motor characteristics.
Sensor less Vector is generally better than V/Hz variable speed mode.
