HELP! Our Ez-Trak is hanging on start-up. Truly all of a sudden.
We've been having intermittent issues with the screen going blank. More of a nuisance than anything. Restart the machine and usually you're good to go for the rest of the day.
Last week the screen went dark, I restarted and here's what happens:
The BIOS loads, and that's it.
The screen lists the BIOS info and "128KB Cache Memory" and hangs.
Normally the HIMEM test is next (I think) but not anymore.
Changed out the weak CMOS battery, no change.
Put in a DOS start-up disk, plugged in a keyboard I can see the C: drive and all it's files.
I do have the original floppy for a format and reload, but want to do that as a last resort thinking it's something else.
ANY ideas?
Thanks,
Al
EDIT: I pulled up the exe files, saw eztrak.exe and ran it.
BMDC counts down, the display shows up, and I get a runtime error.
