    CNC router tabletop recommendations

    Hi everyone.

I'm in the need of a small, inexpensive tabletop CNC Router. It needs to cut 6061, 7075 aluminum sheets up to 2 mills thick. I just need to cut 2" inch sized "L" shaped or square pieces and want to do it in an automated fashion. Each piece will have a few non tapped holes as well.

    Any suggestions?

This seems like it might fit the bill.

    Hi friend,

    Check this one: http://www.cntemei.com/product/en/pr...how.asp?id=375
It may suit your need. CNC Micro Engraver TM-3025, with good quality and low price.

    Taig CNC

It was recommended that I check out a CNC Taig mill. It certainly seems to fit the bill. Has anyone else experienced this? Either $1700 from http://www.deepgroove1.com/videos.htm or ~ $2250 from Taig direct.

I originally started this journey balking at tool costs to have 1000 little 10 mm by 2 mm (16.7L x 5.6W x 1.0T) pieces with a couple of tapped holes made from 7075-T6 stamped.

Well that and they wanted anywhere from $.80 to $1.23 per piece, and I need to sell 20 at $6 US bucks.

[But I'm not sure how fast you'll get rich making these parts at that price. There's probably a reason that people who are in the business quoted them as high as they did. The material alone will cost something, and you have to amortize the price of the mill, and pay overhead on your shop, and for tooling and lots of little stuff you'll need, plus pay yourself something for changing the workpieces and tools, sweeping chips, cleaning and deburring. How many do you think you can produce per hour?

If you want to buy a Taig, though, let me know - I sell the genuine Taig control system with it, at a price that's lower than buying from Taig themselves.]

    Taig CNC dealers

Hey all - getting closer to making a purchasing decision. Getting married in October so thats thrown a degree of uncertainty in this whole endeavor.

I've looked at deepgroove1's website, 1700 with a gecko controller. I've also looked at Taig's site as well, and thats closer to 2200-2400 for roughly the same thing but a different controller. Thats a pretty big price discrepancy.

Deepgroove's assembly instructions are a little scattered and not well organized and there is nothing on the Taig website on how to assemble the beast so I'm not sure how difficult the process will be over all.
