    HAAS 123 error

    123 Error
A few minutes ago our 2003 Mini lathe did the folowing:
The spindle stoped and there was allarm 123 Spindle drive fault
We did restart the machine: It's moving no alarms but when I'm starting M3 with s500 it's not runing and no alarm.
In the cabinet I've noticed on the Spindle servo amplifier that lamp "FUSE OPEN" is on

Is there anybody able to help me , as far as I think this is something smal like fuse somewhere
The haas service man is able to come in 2-3 days
I'm working 24 hours and this is going to cost me a lot.

    Thank you in advance

    Regards: Martin

Check the 3ph into the spindle, possibly main 3ph fuse.

If this is the the lamp on the "Gold" servo amp..well it could be a 3ph power problems as Al has suggested but most likely the servo amp itself has a problem..or the spindle motor is shorted..

If the incoming voltages are correct, it could be the spindle motor got hot which could cause this also. Or over current, over voltage, or under current or under voltage.

There were two small "round" fusses on the old style drive cards, but not sure if there are the same on the new covered (gold) style cards..never had one go bad..

All of my teck manuals are older than your machine. But I would have your dealer fax over a fuse location page for your machine. Try just replacing the right fuse first. There is plenty of time for the "Ohh my God" fixes.

    Problem solved

Thank you All for the help.
It was the fuse insight the servo amplifier.
We just did removed the "gold" cover and replaced the fuse with one of the spares that are in the cabinet.
