I have heard of 16MC 16TC but have not seen 16GC. Is it used on a grinder?

Yes, I think it is pretty obscure. It is used on our Mitsubishi Grinder.

M-Milling
T-Turning
L-Laser
P-Punch
G-Grinder

Fanuc released manuals for Laser and Punching and never for a grinder as the parameters and maintenance is similar to turning and milling
