What is needed for milling Aluminium (40mm depth)

    Hi,

We just thought about milling Aluminium. There are a lot of cheap small XYZ Milling Machines on the net.

Are they usable to mill Aluminium up to a depth of about 40mm?
It doesn't have to be fast, it can take a while...
We would like to use it for milling to build parts for handling equipment for machines (e.g. conveyor belts).

I saw an interesting chinese one on ebay from salecnc.com.
They look quite rigid for the price and have a 2.2kW spindle, which looks good to me compared to the german ones you get around here for the same price with the 1kW Kress spindles. Has anyone some experience with these salecnc machines?

    Thank you for any answer

    Edit:
I just saw here, that maybe the Excitech SHG0609 or SHG1212 would also be in the same price and size region as the salecnc.com ones. It looks like you have here some experience with these machines, but only in woodworking. Are they also usable for Aluminium (depth down to 40mm)?
