    Could be HDD going south.

Could be HDD driver card (some used that in an ISA slot) going bad.

    Could be corrupted HDD.

Is the HDD full? If so, unload some programs via DOS, run DEFRAG and retry. How? remove shortie keyboard and plug in a regular one. Hit F8 during initial stages of bootup and say NO to anything that looks like a BMDC command. This should get you to the DOS prompt.

IF the thing won't boot after F8 trick, you lost the boot sector via HDD failure or corruption. Solution: new HDD or better yet, DOM. Be carefult with new HDD as the BMDC system won't recognize a HDD larger than 540meg or so.

Try full system reload too as that may replace corrupted files but it won't fix a gone south HDD.
