I just received my new Xylotex 4 axis board and I'm a little bit confused. On page 5 of the datasheet it gives the pinouts for the connector J7 in a table. For example, the first line in the table says IDC Pin: 3, Typical usage: step x, DB25 Pin 2. So, if I'm to understand this correctly, if I'm the typical user with a normal PC and I'm connecting the xylotex supplied IDC-DB25 cable from the J7 connector on the xylotex to the parallel port on the back of the computer I'd tell Mach to use pin 2 for the step x signal. Correct?

Ok, now assume I'm not the regular user. Instead of the normal wiring where I'm running a ribbon cable from the IDC LPT header inside my computer to the DB 25 connector on the back of the machine I'm simply using an IDC-IDC 26 pin cable to go directly from the LPT IDC header on the motherboard to the IDC header J7 on the xylotex. In this case do I tell mach that step x should be on pin 3 or pin 2?
