rj11 limit switch wiring through cable chain

Hi I am using cncrouterparts breakout board, which uses rj11 jacks.
I am considering using round cat 3 utp 24awg phone line for my limit switches.
It is solid wire, not stranded and I know it's not the best choice for flexing applications, but Im wondering if anyone has used it, and what sort of life expectancy can I expect. Is that flat telephone cable good for repeated flexing?
    Thanks.

In a machine application you should never use solid conductor, even in non-flexing applications, vibration can cause fractures.

    Hello Alan
Its been a while since posts were made to your thread. If you run your limit switch wire through your cable carrier then you may run into noise causing a fake limit switch alarm.
    just a sug.
