    Trouble getting home

I have a 1998 Anilam 3300mk on an HH Roberts bed mill. In the morning when I home it, sometimes the x axis will rapid to the -x hard stop. If I anticipate this and E-stop it, reboot and rehome it (2 or 3 times) it will eventually home normally and run fine all day.
    Any ideas about this?

Runaway is indicative of encoder (or cable) problems. Could be either the encoder or perhaps a power supply getting weak, although the latter would probably affect all axis about the same way.

Throughly check the cable connections first.
First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

(Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own and are not necessarily those of CNCzone and its management)
