    Step-Syn from Sanyo Denki

    Hi,

I have 2 #34 steppers thar are more or less same type from Sanyo Denki, 103-807-xx where one is 51 and the other 0540. The later has axis on both sides.

My confusion is that these 2 steppers have different colors on wires and I cant find any info on the web, maybe you guys can help me out here.

    -51 has red/yellow/blue and green/white/black
    (?? coil order ?, ? and ?, ?)
    -0540 has white.blue/white/blue and red/black/white.black
    (?? coil order ?, ? and ?, ?)
    Voltage is 5V / 1.9A / 200steps

    I also have a #23 Japan Servo KP6M2-X98
    white.brown/black/red and white.green/white/green
    (?? coil order ?, ? and ?, ?)
    Voltage is 5V / 1A / 200steps

Any ideas or links where I can find more information,
    coil order 1 to 4.

Thanks for all help I can get

Hi, use an Ohm meter to identify the centre taps, then see this thread, second post.

    coil order

    Hi MrBean,

I have them *ohmed*, the problem is to find the correct coil order.
The colors described are as they where ohmed but I dont know what coil is No:1, 2, 3 and 4. I dont want to start smoking FET:s.

Hi, you don't need to "smoke FET's" to find the correct wire order.
All you need is the rated voltage, 5V in your case, and a bit of wire swapping.
If you've already found the centre taps using an Ohm meter, as you say you have, then connect both these to +5V supply. Now take any remaining wire and ground it (V-). Label this as wire 4. Leave this wire grounded throughout the process.

Now ground another wire, the motor will rotate 1 step, if it goes clockwise label this as wire 3. If it rotates anticlockwise, label it as wire 1. If there is no movement, label it as wire 2. Remove this wire from ground.

You should now have 2 unlabeled wires, repeat the above paragraph for these two remaining wires.

When done you will have the 2 centre taps and 4 wires labeled 1,2,3 & 4. This is your "firing order"

Hope this is what you were after.
If not, then perhaps a more precise description of what you require would help.

    Thanks MrBean,

This is what I was looking for.

    Take care my friend
