CNC4PC C10 Breakout Board and C6 Speed Controller ? dont want to fry it

Ok trying to finish up my wiring on the X2 Conversion. I have a HobbyCNC board that doesent have Limit switch or home inputs, hence the Breakout board. With it hooking to its on Parallel port it doesent have to be hooked up in anyway physicially to the HobbyCNC board correct? Just route it through Mach 3 to interact with the system? I will be getting power to it from the USB adapter cable from CNC4PC.

Now the C6 board is another story. I am going to draw power and ground through a seperate 12v power supply so it wont have any common powers or grounds with any of the other components. My ? here is it says keep it isolated from other components, so do I have to get another breakout board just to run the C6 board or would it be safe to run it to the Breakout board with the Home and Limit switches hooked to it? I know Hoss and a few others have used the C6 board and know what works and what smokes. Also the wiring schemetic for the X3 and C6 board says that you unhook the Pot., I would rather keep it for manual control if I dont want to fool with programing for a short job, know anyway around this. I was thinking just wiring it in series ( i think its late) so that in order for the C6 to control the speed through Mach 3 the Pot. would have to be wide open. Anybody know if that would work? Enough jabbering. Thanks in advance for all the help.

    Hey Max,
Check out the cnc4pc yahoo group.
He's answered a lot of questions there concerning the C6.
I now know it's paramount that the C10 and the C6 don't share a common ground from the power supplies.
My mistake was using 2 supplies in the same case that shared ground. POOF!
Tpworks got it figured out too, but I haven't heard from him in a while.
