    Question rotary engrave ???

    Hi guys,

Can I engrave around the edge of a diameter using conversational on
a Hurco VSX24 using a 4th 'A' axis and with Ultimaxx ssm control?

I cant see how to do it.

Would I be better using edgecam ??

    Thanks for any help guys.

You can do it. It is a little cumbersom. Hopefully I can keep it simple. Here goes.
do a letter like you are trying to put it in the 12 o'clock position. Then copy the block for however many letters you have then use pattern rotate before the second letter and rotate the second letter 10 or 15 degrees. Then after the letter do a pattern end. You have to look and adjust each letter. For example W and I take up different spaces in the lettering and require a different gap. So W may need to rotate 12 degrees and I only 8 to look the same as two O's side by side. This should do it, if not pm me and I will try to explain more or in a better way. Hope that helps. I also do training on the Hurco controls if needed. Jetski

    Hi Jetski..

It did work of a fashion.. the leter spacing was less than perfect and the overall look was'nt that great BUT it did the job.

    Thanks for your input. :-)
