    Story Behind VF-0E

What is the VF-0? I see a lot of VF-0E machines listed for sale which have the same specs as the VF-2. I found one post where someone said they are lighter duty versions of the VF-2 intended for schools or something- not intended for production work? I'm sure there is someone here that knows the real story. Are they good machines or should I keep looking for a VF-1 or 2?

VF-0E is an extended table VF-0. The VF-0E did not have the Vector Drive spindle motor..which means less spindle torque. Because of this, the VF-0E is a little bit lighter duty than the VF-2. Of course, you can find plenty of them being used today in production.
    Thanks,

Perfect! That answers my question- thanks! I tried searching pretty much all day but I guess I missed that one.

One more question Ken... By 'lighter duty' were you referring to the structure & rigidity of the machine or just the power on tap from the spindle?

By the way he worded it, I am sure he meant spindle power.

Yes, only spindle. The rest of the machine is physically the same. No change of castings etc.
