Autocad 2007 *.dxf to Mastercam 8

I have read through numerous post in recent days regarding converting Mastercam 8 files into Autocad 2007 files and everything seems quite straight forward however I am in need of doing the reverse operation.

I have been trying without much luck to access and use a *.dxf file created by Autocad 2007 in my Mastercam 8. To do this I have simply been creating the drawings in Autocad 2007, saving as a *.dxf file and then using the File -> Converters -> Dxf option to try and import my drawing into Mastercam 8.

The problem is that Mastercam after this process I am left with a blank page where my drawings should be. Can anybody please help point out where I am going wrong? If you require any further information to be able to help I will happily post the requested information asap.

you have to save as 2004 format or best to use 2000, Autodesk 2007 version is not even compatable with its own 2006, which is 2004 format by default.

I use autodesk land development software everyday at work and we always have to save back for clients.

Is your exporting .dxf's, you'll usually get best results using v12 .dxf

The difference between those two programs is something like 8 years. Did you really think that Mastercam V8 would read a file from the current Autocad?

Autocad would need to out put it in an older DXF format.

Have you thought about upgrading as the newer MC has an free option to bring in the DWG and out put the DWG format.
