We have just acquired a LC20-M, a great machine, and have brought back to life the live tooling through the use of modern programming software.
The machine and program are working great except for a random (sometimes not so random) alarm we get when the machine tries to engage the C-axis for the live tooling. The spindle will rotate slowly, stop, and then there is a clicking sound as if the C-axis is trying to lock up or engage. The machine pauses for a few seconds and you hear a second click. The “C-AXIS ENGAGING” light on the control remains flashing (should be solid when engaged correctly) and the machine alarms out with the following:
ALARM-A160 C AXIS CONNECT COMMAND
Any ideas on how to correct the problem is appreciated.
