    Building a controller

    http://www.electronics-lab.com/proje...008/index.html

I'm possible going to build a small cnc machine soon, and I was wondering if those schematics for a controller were any good, and if they would work with the $13 stepper motors on this page: http://cnclinx.stores.yahoo.net/steppermotors.html

Also, does anybody have the schematics in whole form, not just different parts of the circuit (As shown on the page for the circuit)

Those $13 motors are much to small for any cutting machine.

Expect to pay about $50 per motor, unless you find a good deal on Ebay.

the Pacific scientific powermax II are great little steppers, and have a decent lifespan. Ebay them, you can buy all of your connectors from Mouser or Digikey. Just an idea, but it depends on the size of your project. I saw small and assumed the size of Maxnc, Taig, Sherline. You could also retrofit one of the Central Machinery machines, doing research on the machine I came across a writeup when planning my retrofit.

Ebay seller (powermax steppers) "sintrol" is very good to work with and packages very well. view item #170014197083 for $99.00 with encoder! I must warn the rubber gears are a pain to remove!

this should also help you get started: http://www.balbots.com/article_info.php?articles_id=10

The most important HAVE FUN doing it.. I cant wait to retrofit the central!
