It's getting easier to "model" parts BUT I'm finding that editing is not coming easy.

You need to post your file Paul, can't really define the problem using only the picture.

Sorry Paul, cannot help you on this one, something about this file that locks my computer up while viewing in XR Tried four time.

I did get to see what you are referring to but in this case, unless it really bugs you I doubt that it will make any difference in the machining of the part. I did not get a chance to look at your tool paths.

Well I can look at it and view the tool paths but after 10 min I gave up trying to fix it. The closest I got was using extruded curves, did not work though.

Like Ken says I doubt that it will effect machining.

Maybe Hu will step in and save the day. Can you post it up on the Onecnc board? I bet someone there will fix it in no time if you really want.

I don't know why it is crashing your machine Ken?

    You have fresh video drivers?

I don't want someone to fix it, I want to know how to do it.

I am sorry for the misunderstanding.

If you post your file over at Onecnc forum they will tell you how to fix it.

    In a new layer:

    1. extract edges for both ends of the section that has the damaged crescent shaped surfaces (and curves). Do a cross section surface using these curves to rebuild the tubular section.

    2. for the intersecting tubular section where the bad surfaces were created copy the curve you already have .75 in the X direction which will make the surfaces overlap so they have clean edges (later). Make a cross section surface using both curves. Sorry I don't know the right mechanical terms for these thingies, me wood guy.

    Blank the new layer.

Break to surfaces your solid. Zoom in and delete the demonic crescent shaped surfaces, I did the curves also. Delete the two original surfaces which you just rebuilt in the new layer since they will be replaced.

Select all. Merge. Remove inner surfaces on that solid and you're done.

I've attached the model. I did things a little differently so you can see the surfaces and edges I extracted but you'll get what I did.
