    ZX7045 CNC planning

I am in the planning stages of a ZX7045 CNC (3-axis). I was hoping to design the entire project on CAD. I want to make all the parts before taking my mill apart. I am in need of accurate measurements for the following parts:

The head to Z axis lead screw bushing (Lies in the Z slide bore hole). A picture of the bushing is shown at CNCCookbook: Z-axis Mods for IH Mill about 2/3 page down. I also attached a picture of Warfield’s modified bushing from the above page.

Distance from center of Z axis lead screw hole to Z slide surface.

Does anybody know how to get these measurements without taking my machine apart?

I attached a preliminary design of the Z ballnut mount. Why does everybody seem to make their ballnut pair face the same direction instead of opposing the way I’ve drawn them?
