Hi,
I have an opportunity to get a Kitamura Mycenter 1. It is a 480 volt machine but I only have 240 available. Does anyone know if it is possible to switch the machine to run on 240?
Thanks,
MR

The easy way to fix this is to look on ebay and find a 480 primary and 240 volt secondary transformer should be able to find one for few hundred dollars and wire it up backwards, like hook your 240 volt to the secondary and it will give you 480 volt out the primary and you can hook that to your machine ready to go and it will be clean....a 35-40 kva would be more than a enough to do the job... depending on the size or the machine
If it is Fanuc based, it possibly has transformer taps for 220, if there are any 3 phase motors on 480, they often are dual voltage, 220-480, you might have to change the overloads/fusing, if changing over.
