Axis over travel O Mate M

    Hi Thread Viewer
The 1989 O mate M controller on a Bridgeport 412 milling center recently had a new board installed . Parameters were copied by hand and entered manually lacking a tape reader. One problem we found was that in the event of axis over travel, we have no way of clearing the error and as a result, the Handle mode is inoperative. Previous to the board change we cleared the error with the reset soft button and manually moved the axis in Handle mode. Now we have to slide the stop hitting the limit switch to clear the error and gain use of the Handle mode.
Any ideas if this is parameter related? We do not have a parameter manual.

    Thanks in advance

If you are having to move the switch it sounds like you are hiiting the hard over travel switch. The soft over travel limit should be 2-3mm inside the cam
The parameters for soft over travel are as follows:-
    700 X limit 1
    701 Y limit 1
    702 Z limit 1
    704 X limit 2
    705 Y limit 2
    706 Z limit 2

Thanks for the quick reply Alan B
I'll check the parameters first thing in the morning.

Further to what Alan B wrote, the values you set in those parameters are absolute values read from the home position.

    Thanks Alan B and Ozemale6t9 !
Parameters were input incorrectly and now all is well. I had no idea how to fix it and you made it simple , thanks again.
