I have an old OSP3000 control which pre dates the RS-232 by a couple years so only way to transfer programs in or out of memory is by tape. I had a machine tech come in today to help wire up a parallel cable to tap into the wires coming from the machines tape reader going to the com board. I have some software on my computer which has a built in BTR. We got it wired up correctly and almost have it simulating the tape reader but we are stuck at the point where the machine reads the tape forwards then rewinds and reads it a second time to verify it. From what i can tell when you punch out a tape from the machine memory the program has a carriage return code at the very beginning and at the end of the program. There is no % used as with most machines. So how does the machines computer know it has reached the end of the program so it will rewind the tape and then read it again? And how do the old BTR emulators simulate that on an old Okuma?
