ah! they are tiny haha!
they looked like a Fanuc 16 System in your pic because they appeared larger.
yes probably I/O or something.
I spoke to the local fanuc man and he suspected the CRT power supply. I tested it and had the multi meter on it watching what happens when it shuts down. Sure enough after 20 min or so the pc error end but psu stayed smack on 5.04 and 24.1v.
I then restarted and moved over to the psu in with the spindle drive and measured the volts. 4.99v and 23.5v. It has now been 8 hours and the machine has run flawlessly.
All I have done in the last couple of days is remove the CRT psu and check the caps and for any signs of damage. The previous owner told me the CRT psu has been rebuilt recently and showed signs of repair. I then redid probably 80% of the solder joints on the psu hoping for a dodgey solder joint.
If it hadn't tripped out 20min after I turned it on this morning I would have said I fixed it as it has now ran for the longest time since I have owned the machine.
Since fanuc want 1870$ to put a new psu in I have to make sure I am on the right track
Look on Ebay for the psu; what is the part #?
part number is A20B-1001-0160
found remanufactured one sor 200 pounds exchange.
just don't like replaceing stuff for the sake of it.
would prefer to know it is causing the issue as i can see me having to replace half the cnc otherwise.
