    Got it, thanks.

I got mine up and running plus cut a file. How are you doing with this one?

Still haven't gotten the other half of the Z axis coupler. Looks like Nate sent it out this morning. In the process of moving, so I'm hoping to be cutting files by next week. I just wish everything shipped the first time...

Re: Saturn 2x4 NEMA 23 Plug and Play

    Well, finally done. Mostly.
Moving was a pain, but it all went well. Managed not to damage anything. Got the coupler the day of moving, so that was fun.
Went to the store and picked up parts to build a proper electrical setup. Ran 220v to the garage in the new house, and just need one more face plate to be up to code. As far as the machine, it works beautifully. For some reason the profile Nate sent me had an incorrect setting for the Z axis steps/in, which I was able to correct by digging through difalkner's thread. Spindle was already trammed nearly to perfection, I was impressed. I ran a simple drilling toolpath to start, and a second to countersink each hole. I only ended up putting 3 screws per rail.
Afterwards, I ran a pocket toolpath and machined the working area flat. Thankfully I've been using Aspire and Mach3 for a couple years now, so not too much difficulty in doing this. And I finally cut my first v-bit engraving on this machine, on a piece of scrap mdf per request of my sister.
Gonna try a v-carve inlay tomorrow, I believe that to be a true test for a machine. So far so good, hopefully I'll put a lot of material through it before leaving for my mission!

Well, the machine is working to my satisfaction. Despite having no homing/limit sensors, or a z touch off plate, I carved two inlays today. I felt proud
Thanks Nate for all the help. We'll be using this for years to come...

Looks great! Are you using a Vectric product, Fusion 360, … ?

I'm using an older copy of Aspire. Used to have Solidworks, but no longer, so need to learn Fusion for 3d work.
