    TM1P toolchanger alarm 113

i am getting a 113 shuttle alarm on the toolchanger,i notice that the toolchanger is very slow moving toward the spindle and sometimes will stop or hesitate before moving all the way to the right to remove the tool from the spindle.

i am wondering if this would call for a motor replacement?

anyone who has any experience on this subect would be greatly appreciated.

by the way the machine is a 2007 TM1P.

    Thank You

check out the clutch to see if it was slipping and it appears to have a keyway lock and does not slip or is not loose.

when the toolchanger fails i normally hear a load on the motor like it is straining to move the toolchanger and it slows till it stops.

this happens in various stages sometimes it almost makes a full toolchange, othertimes it stops halfway and alarms out.

in each circumstanse the motor sounds like it is struggling each time.

    thank you

Have you checked the crank arm? On one of my Minis it came loose and slid forward a bit on the shaft and rubbed against the carousel carrier.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

    Hi Geof,
Yes i checked it all carefully, today i removed the relays and reinstalled them and tapped on the motor housing with a rubber hammer and it seems to have a renewed vigor.

maybe the brushes in the motor were not seated or conducting properly (wishful thinking)

all seems to be fine at the moment i will see how long it lasts.

thank you all for your help

    updated news

turns out i cleaned some fine metallic dust from the proximity sensor(s) on the tool carousel and my proble magically went away (so far)

this fine particulate matter came from dry facing aluminum and apparently was enough to false trigger the sensor into thinking it was sensing the toolchanger lever arm.

since cleaning toolchanger operates with lots of torque and no alarms all day.

    thanx
