Hi guys,
Would anyone know what new a super mini mill is going for these days? Roughly?
Hi guys,
Would anyone know what new a super mini mill is going for these days? Roughly?
Thanks Lowell,
Yeah, I remember being able to ballpark price up a machine on the website, but now every machine has a "contact dealer" link for the price. Possibly because im outside of the US. Bascially im looking to purchase a minimill and have been quoted by the local dealer and am interested to see what the machine sells for in the US.
Scott, Sorry I did not notice you were Down Under. Here is what I just pulled off the web site.

Hey Lowell,
Cheers for that, my quote for a supermini mill with highspeed machining and a few other options is significantly higher. I'm keen to find out where the difference is being eaten up..
Scott, send me your list of options and I will build on for you and send it back
Lowell
ok,
I got pricing on both the super mini mill and the super mini mill 2...
Could you quote a super mini mill 2
Options:
High speed machining
Extra memory
Ethernet
high flow coolant pump
I also got seperate pricing for the 15k spindle and side mount tool changer...
Hi Geof,
Yeah, I've considered shipping, and Haas crating. We dont pay import duty for equipment made in the US, but we have customs clearances etc. Delivery and forking may also be included in the quote.
Scott,

Thanks for that Lowell.
Ive replied off post...

whats the difference between the 20 tool umbrella, and the side mount?
The price difference between the 20 umbrella and side M?
If you are still referring to the Super MiniMill or Super MiniMill 2 I don't think this is a relevant question. The SMM comes only with the 10 tool carousel changer and the SMM 2 only with the side mount changer.
On the VF machines the side mount changer option adds $9,295.
Incidentally if you go to the US website for Haas the prices are still available, or at least they were a minute or two back like on this page:
MINI VMC | Haas VMC PRICING | Haas Automation, Inc. | CNC
Your price will be higher but you can get relative prices between options.
I also noticed Haas now changes for 'export crating' so that is one reason for your higher price.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.
I was going to say the difference in the dollar conversion might be a reason also..until I looked it up (chair)
41,000.00 USD = 38,182.16 AUD
I would think shipping would be a chunk also.
Gary
Yep, Im looking at a $20k + difference between the US pricing and the Haas dealer here in Sydney. The difference is due to converting the machine to "australian" specs, the pricing the dealer gets from haas is higher than US machines, the cost of crating, shipping and customs fees. We have an annual machine show coming up where the Haas dealer is offering a 5% discount though.
Good Luck Scott, The machine will pay for it's self even at these higher prices.
