    Vibratory Tumblers

    Hi all; I need to tumble a lot of 2" x 3" x .125" up to 8" x 8" x .125" aluminum parts to a nice matte finish. I've heard two recommendations:

    C & M Topline's 3 cubic foot machine:
Vibratory Finishing Machines | Vibratory Deburring Machines

and the 2.5 cubic foot PV machine from here:
    PV Series Tumbler - MFI

There is about $1200 difference but the PV machine is supposedly much higher quality and far quieter. I'd love any advice on this as it's going to break the bank to get either machine and I don't want to waste any money I can avoid. Thanks!

    How many is 'alot'

We have the 3 cubic foot mr deburrer at work, and larger parts such as the .125 x 8 x 8 parts you would only be able to put a few in (IE 4ish) as they will flip upright and get suck on the lid

The same happens with long parts, they eventualy turn sideways and get hung up on each other

As for small parts, .125 x 2 x 3, i could imagin putting 50+ in at once aslong as the media was fine enough that it kept the parts from sticking to eachother

While 4 at a time isn't ideal, that's the largest part I do. Most of my parts are the little ones already described or some 3.5 x 3.5 x .09" stuff. It still sounds like that machine is adequate. One comment I head was that it's horribly load - painfully so. Is this the case in your experience? Thanks!

We run a BurrBench, it looks much the same as the PV series
It is very quiet, I have been around the Mr Debur they are quite loud.
We finish steel and aluminum in ours works well with both, we use ceramic for steel and plastic for Aluminum we also run some cleaner in solution.
    Thats my 2 cents
