    Wire EDM Help

I have a 4 axis wire edm post that I made with PostBuilder and have been using it for over a year now. It has one problem. No matter what the MCS is set to, the program is always generated based on the position of the WCS. To work around this, I have simply been using Instance Geometry to move a copy of the part to the position I need and then create my program.

My question is this: Is there a command or something that I can add to my post so it recognizes the MCS as the program zero? I don't know if I'm just missing something, doing something wrong, or is this just how the wire posts created in PostBuilder work.

    Any help will be appreciated!

    Regards,

The postprocessor should only see MCS coordinates, so something is wrong here. The WCS is never used.

In the geometry view ofthe operation navigator, are all the groups and operations under the MCS?

If you move the WCS and post again, do the coordinates change?

Smile This is what I have.

I"m not sure this structure is correct. Never have fully understood the correct way to do this. I have noticed, that when I change my MCS, to the correct axis I need for our Robocut wire, it revert's back , 90 deg off , like it does not want to stay, if that make's any sense. I'm including the correct program to cut this part. If I post the code out with the part placed like it is in the picture , I'm 90 Deg. off. Regards,

There should be a MCS_WEDM at the top of the tree, with a workpiece, optionally WEDM geometry groups, and then the operations.

Start by creating a WEDM setup, not a milling setup.

    Smile Thank's !!

That's the trick !! You got me thinking when I was at home this morning about what you posted earlier, & now that I'm at work & opened it up & did what you just posted, code is correct. Many thank's for helping resolve this.

    Regard's,
