    gecko 210: low current draw?

curiosity more than anything, as my table seems to be running fine:

i'm running two 6amp steppers via two Gecko 210's.
they're each wired with 270k resistors ie, 6A.

when i measure the current draw from the powersupply, its about
1 amp for each gecko.. even at top (table) speed.

again, 6amp rated motors seem to be running fine.

    am i missing something?
or does this imply that i could've built this table with 2amp rated
    steppers (ie cheaper)?

If you're not looking at something besides a current meter....you're missing alot.
